Ladbrokes SPFL: Falkirk take advantage as East Fife go top

Rangers and Hibernian may not have been on Ladbrokes SPFL duty this weekend, but there was plenty of drama up and down the leagues in another busy weekend of football.
It was certainly a busy one for goalkeepers, with six matches seeing over four goals, while those who backed a bevy of draws will have been disappointed to see just three stalemates.
Down in League 1 Dunfermline are closing in on the title, while there was yet another change at the top of the ever-unpredictable League 2.
Here’s your weekend round-up…
Ladbrokes Championship
First-half goals from Paul Watson and Mark Kerr were enough to see Falkirk move second with a 2-0 win at home to bottom-side Alloa.
With Hibernian’s game versus Rangers’ postponed due to the Gers’ cup commitments, the Bairns are now two points clear of Hibs having played a game more.
Livingston maintained their recent upswing in form with a 2-0 win at home to Dumbarton.
Liam Buchanan and Jordan White grabbed the goals for Livi, who have now claimed seven points from their last three fixtures to move 11 clear of Alloa.
The final game of the Championship this weekend proved to be a barnstorming one as Raith edged Morton in a seven-goal thriller.
Ryan Hardie and Mark Stewart put Rovers 2-0 inside 25 minutes before Keith Watson made it interesting with a reply shortly before the break.
Hardie claimed the match ball in the space of two second-half minutes however to put Raith out of sight, although two late goals from the visitors – including a second for Watson – ensured a nervy finish.
Ladbrokes League 1
After five wins on the spin, Peterhead’s stunning spell was ended in a 1-1 draw away at Albion.
While that was happening, league leading Dunfermline romped to a 5-0 success at home to Stenhousemuir.
The Pars have now scored 11 goals in their last two games and hold a near-unassailable 10-point lead with nine games remaining.
Having been bottom for all but three weekends of the season, Brechin are making things interesting after a second successive win coupled with a defeat for Forfar.
Robert Thompson’s late effort handed City the points against Ayr, while Charlie Pettigrew’s strike was enough for Stranraer to down the Loons.
Finally Aidrie moved back into the top four, as Jim Lister bagged his fifth and sixth goals in seven league games to help see off Cowdenbeath 3-1.
Ladbrokes League 2
East Fife made a statement of intent, as they triumphed 3-1 in their table of the table clash at Elgin.
A Nathan Austin first-half brace and a Kevin Smith effort in the second period ensured the points for the Fifers, who go a point clear at the top albeit having played a game more.
Queen’s Park are now three points behind Elgin, after a 0-0 draw at home to Berwick , while Barry Ferguson’s Clyde also couldn’t close the gap.
The Bully Wee were 2-0 down inside half an hour at Annan, only to turn it all round with three goals in 12 second half minutes.
The hosts had other ideas however and Peter Weatherson’s 85th-minute goal made each side claimed a point.
Stirling consigned Arbroath to a sixth game without a win in a 1-0 success at Forthbank, while Montrose picked up a rare away win at East Stirling.
Chris Templemen netted first and last for the Gable Endies, while Gary Fraser and Adrian Mallagaray also got on the scoresheet in a 4-2 win.
