How Ibrahimovic feels about potential Man Utd managers
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is rumoured to be joining Manchester United in the summer, with many outlets reporting that the enigmatic forward is already preparing for a move to the Premier League.
Another piece of business to be decided by the Red Devils is who will be in the dugout next season, with Louis van Gaal in danger of losing his job.
Jose Mourinho has been waiting in the wings ever since he was sacked by Chelsea earlier in the season and has said he will have a new job in July, with many speculating that it will be with Man Utd.
Zlatan’s autobiography I am Zlatan revealed the thoughts of feelings of the Swedish striker and this can help give us an understanding on where he might be moving after Paris Saint-Germain.
Here is how Ibra viewed his two potential future bosses when he played under them before:
“Van Gaal was a pompous ass. He was a little like Co Adriaanse. He wanted to be a dictator, without a hint of a gleam in his eye.
“As a player, he’d never stood out, but he was revered in the Netherlands because, as a manager, he’d won the Champions League with Ajax and received some medal from the government,” said the 34-year-old of the current Man Utd manager.
Clearly, Ibrahimovic isn’t the Dutch managers biggest fan and it is unlikely that he would put his sizeable ego aside to reunite with the former Holland manager.
Speaking of his first impression of the Portuguese manager, Zlatan said: “He formed an attachment to me even before we met. He would become a guy I was basically willing to die for.”
That strong was reciprocal and the PSG forward went on to further gush about the Special One.
“I’ve never met a manager with that kind of knowledge about the opposing sides… We all sensed it immediately: This guy knows his stuff,” he said.
Clearly, Ibrahimovic would jump at the chance to reunite with Mourinho and bringing the two to Old Trafford at the same time would make the deal much easier.
