Ex-Man United man urges Jurgen Klopp to replace entire Liverpool squad

Liverpool may have gained revenge over Manchester City with a 3-0 win over the Citizens this week but the Reds have done little to impress Rio Ferdinand this season.

On the eve of that emphathic win the former Manchester United captain was quoted as saying he would have relished playing against the current crop of Liverpool players.

“I would have loved to come here and play against this Liverpool team,” he said.

“I don’t see a threat. I don’t look at that team and think, he can hurt me. There is nothing to put you on the back foot at all.”

Ferdinand went on to say that if Jurgen Klopp is to bring the good times back to Anfield he is going to need to be a busy man when the transfer window re-opens.

The centre-back explained that not only does the German need to stamp his mark on the Liverpool squad but that on what he has seen this season no one should consider themselves safe from the axe.

“If I’m Jurgen Klopp, I’m a worried man. I’m thinking roll on to the next window. You could potentially [sell] them all if you wanted to,” he added.

“Nathaniel Clyne has been fairly consistent, Henderson is the captain so you wouldn’t see him changing.”

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to Selhurst Park to take on a struggling Crystal Palace side and on the back of their City triumph the Reds are priced  up  as 21/20 favourites for that game.

The Eagles can be backed at 13/5, with the draw on at 23/10, but with Ferdinand’s comments ringing in their ears  the Liverpool players might just up their game to build on their latest victory in style.
