European Super League? Not gonna happen say fans

The discussion of introducing a European Super League has rumbled on for years, with a growing number of fans becoming increasingly frustrated at a lack of competition in some of the continent’s leagues.
The topic has hit the headlines again recently with representatives from some of the biggest clubs from the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A meeting wealthy businessmen hoping to get a fledgling division off the ground.
However, the idea is a non starter when it comes to fans, with the majority having little faith in anyone’s ability to create a break-away league.

With the story back in the headlines Ladbrokes asked its Twitter following to vote on the likelihood of a European Super League coming into existence and with 73 per cent of the votes “No Chance” was the overwhelming favourite.
More than a quarter of those who voted (27 per cent) believe it is just a matter of time before the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are among those to be founding members of a new era of football.
But if the fans are to be believed it won’t happen in our lifetime.
