Dunfermline Delight: Pars Avoid Brechin Banana-skin to Win Promotion
Published:It was celebration time at East End Park as Dunfermline won promotion to the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship with a 3-1 win over bottom club Brechin City. Faissal El Bakhtaoui netted a hat-trick for the home side, but there was plenty of action away from the pitch too.
With an impressive crowd of 4,402 in attendance to see the Fife club win promotion, the Pars players, fans and official Twitter account were understandably rather excited by the occasion.
It all started out pretty straightforwardly as the club sounded the party claxon…

The newly-crowned champions head to Coatbridge to face an Albion Rovers side who are winless in seven, with the Pars 4/7 to take all three points.
Elsewhere, the race for play-off positions is hotting up. Peterhead are currently in second place and travel to Forfar, with the promotion-chasing visitors 9/10 to win.
