£50m for Sturridge? Take the money and run, Liverpool told

Liverpool would be foolish to snub PSG’s attempts to land striker Daniel Sturridge, according to a recent poll.

With the Parisiens reportedly readying a £50m bid for the England striker we asked our Twitter followers to have their say, posing the question should the Anfield outfit keep hold of the striker or ‘Take the money and run’?

And with an overwhelming xx per cent of the votes it’s clear that the consensus is that £50m is far too much money to turn down for the potent but perennially-injured forwards.

It doesn’t take a maths genius to work out that xx per cent of the voters want to see Sturridge stay and flourish in the Premier League but with such little support the player himself might be tempted to turn his back on his homeland.

Sturridge signed for Liverpool from Chelsea back in 23013 for £12m but has managed a total of just 81 appearances in that time, not once featuring in 30 or more league outings for the Anfield club.

His goal tally of 47 shows that when in the side he is still a deadly striker, but it is that lack of game time that means fans are now fed up and would happily take PSG’s millions in order to re-invest in the squad.

Sturridge’s next potential action could come in England’s friendly meeting with Germany this weekend.

The Liverpool man can be backed at 8/1 to open the scoring and build up some confidence ahead of the European Championships.

Whether or not he’ll return to Anfield after this summer’s finals in France remains to be seen but if he doesn’t there could be 50 million reasons why the Kop faithful won’t care.
