WATCH: Paton thunderbolt proves the difference for Dundee United

Paul Paton’s 88th-minute strike secured a priceless 2-1 victory for Dundee United against Hearts on Saturday afternoon.

Guy Demel had given the hosts a first-half lead at Tannadice Park, just minutes after the visitors had been reduced to 10-men owing to Jordan McGhee’s dismissal for two bookable offences.

Jamie Walker’s fine strike put the Jambos level but Paton had the last word with his thunderous effort to leave United 11 points adrift of Kilmarnock with a game in hand.

United’s Henri Anier was then given his marching orders towards the conclusion of a tumultuous contest.
