Twitter reacts as West Ham beat Sunderland
Published:West Ham United hosted Sunderland in today’s early kickoff and the Londoners emerged with a 1-0 victory.
Michail Antonio scored the winner to make Sam Allardyce’s return to Upton Park an unhappy one and Hammers fans enjoyed getting the better of their former boss.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Slaven Bilic’s men getting three points.
West Ham WINNING ugly and up to 5th. I’ll take that all day long thank you. #COYI #IRONS

BT Sport Commentator nailed it: teams like #safc FIND A WAY TO LOSE. Decent enough display, spoilt by PVA shocker and weak finishing.

Horrible leaving the ground knowing we could’ve and should’ve beat them after that 2nd half performance! Absolutely gutted #SAFC

And of course West Ham fans took the opportunity to take a shot at Big Sam.

Sam Allardyce vs Slaven Billic is a fight I’d pay 6-7 pounds to watch in a Toby Carvery car park.

Antonio’s effort was a curved effort after he cut in on to his right foot, but it was his celebration that grabbed the most attention.

Was antonio going “whoop whoop whoop” while doing his celebration?

Conversely, Sunderland fans were pretty upset with the efforts of their goalkeeper.
Can we please bring @JPickford1 on Mannone just can’t kick at all!
— Jack Fromme (@JackFromme) February 27, 2016
How many times today will Vito Mannone attempt to superman punch an easy to catch floated cross?

While his West Ham counterpart was in for a lot of praise.
As utterly predicted, Sunderland came for draw and got what they deserved for typical negativity. Great match winning save by Adrian.
