Twitter goes mad for West Ham teenager after FA Cup display
They may have fallen on penalties, but Peterborough’s efforts against West Brom on Wednesday night will have brought a smile to Graham Westley’s face, regardless of the result.
However, it won’t have just been the Posh boss who would have liked what he saw at London Road, with one loanee in particular stealing the show.
West Ham’s Martin Samuelsen has made a bright start at the Cambridgeshire club since arriving on a temporary deal in November, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
He put in another excellent performance against the Baggies in mid-week, attracting plaudits aplenty, despite missing a penalty during the shoot-out.
And with his performance shown live on the BBC, West Ham fans and neutrals alike were agreed that the Norwegian 18-year-old has a bright future ahead of him.
His trickery certainly put West Brom’s James McClean in particular on the back foot.

Samuelsen has already featured for the West Ham senior team, coming on as a second half substitute in the Hammers’ Europa League qualifying defeat against Maltese side Birkirkara.
Another loan move could well be the route next term, but for some the breakthrough of another player at a London club in the Premier League should serve as an example to Slaven Bilic’s men.

The sky certainly looks the limit for the former Manchester City youngster, and some are already estimating about his future worth. If Matthew Scott is anywhere near accurate, West Ham will have done a very shrewd bit of business indeed.
Martin Samuelson will one day be worth 30 million. No doubt
