Temperamental Kazim-Richards can give Celtic mid-season boost

Published:

Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Celtic are reportedly in the latter stages of welcoming Feyenoord striker Colin Kazim-Richards to Glasgow.

The Turkish striker has been made available by the Dutch side after falling out with his employers following a fracas with a journalist.

Celtic are currently top of the Premiership, but Aberdeen are still in contention six points behind.

Kazim-Richards will be no stranger to big clubs and big expectations, having played for both Galatasaray and Fenebahce during an extensive career across Europe.

From the lower echelons of the English football league, to France, Turkey, Greece and Blackburn, the 29-year-old has pretty much seen it all.

Former Motherwell and Rangers boss Stuart McCall certainly thinks Ronny Deila is on to a winner with Kazim-Richards.

“If Celtic get him they will get a player who can handle most situations. Nothing will faze him,” the former Scottish international said.

There’s still plenty at stake for the Bhoys this season, and with a Premiership title on the line, plus a Scottish Cup to be won, Kazim-Richards looks set to be a timely, if unpredictable arrival at Celtic Park.
