Swansea City could move for mercurial former Man United talent

Swansea City are in the running to bring former Manchester United and West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison back to the Premier League according to a report in Italy.

Il Messaggero are reporting that Lazio are prepared to let the 22-year-old leave on loan after falling out with i Biancocelesti boss Stefano Pioli.

The resurgent Swans are said to be leading the race to bring the talented-yet-problematic player back to these shores in a bid to add more firepower in front of goal.

Morrison has only played a total of 53 minutes of Serie A football this term and looks set to be on the sidelines at the Stadio Olimpico for the rest of the season.

A tweet back in October led some to believe that a move out of the Italian capital was on the cards in the winter transfer window, though why it has taken until Deadline Day to be completed remains to be seen.

Should the Swans bag the former Hammer they will have undoubtedly bolstered their creative options in attack, with Morrison bagging three goals and chipping in with two assists from 16 appearances during the 2013-14 campaign at Upton Park.

It’s been a rollercoaster few years for the Manchester-born player representing five different clubs in the last four years, most of those on loan.

Another temporary switch looks on the cards and it appears that Francesco Guidolin could be heading back to Italy for one of his first pieces of business as Swansea boss.

The Welsh club are also in for Reading’s Danny Williams and Crystal Palace’s Dwight Gayle if reports are to be believed, in what could be a busy day.

Securing those three deals could well see the Liberty Stadium the busiest venue on Transfer Deadline Day, something that is priced up at 14/1.
