Remy and Diouf deals still on for Leicester as deadline looms

Published:

They may have the 16-goal Jamie Vardy to call upon, but Leicester could yet add two new striking options to their ranks on Deadline Day according to the odds.

The Foxes remain odds on to provide Loic Remy with a way out of Chelsea to secure first team football this Monday, with Ladbrokes offering a price of 4/5 for a deal to be done.

Claudio Ranieri’s side will need to get the paperwork in before the window slams shut at 23:00GMT this evening, but it looks entirely possible that they could yet land their man.

Any deal would have to be a temporary one though, with the Blues declaring that they would be unwilling to sanction a permanent switch for the Frenchman and would rather it was a loan move.

Potentially joining Remy at the King Power Stadium in the near future, or perhaps as a viable alternative is Stoke City forward Mame Biram Diouf.

The Senegalese hitman has started just seven games for the Potters this term, just one since October, and is reportedly on the way out of the Britannia Stadium.

Ladbrokes make it a 7/4 chance that the former Manchester United striker swaps the red and white of Stoke for the blue of Leicester before the night is out.

While they occupy top-spot in the Premier League, having just the trio of Vardy, Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki to rely on in the senior striker department it looks as if Ranieri will be staying up to conclude some late business.
