No Premier League title for Arsenal unless Arsene Wenger goes

Sorry Arsenal fans, but unless you have a change of manager the 12-year wait for another Premier League title is set to continue.

Those are the thoughts of the Twitter masses who voted in Ladbrokes’ latest poll, which gave a rather damning indictment of the current Gunners boss.

After the north London side fell to Manchester United and a brace from 18-year-old Marcus Rashford at the weekend they find themselves third in the table, five points behind leaders Leicester.

As with seemingly all defeats for the team, the latest loss was met with some of the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade finding their voice again.

Today’s poll put it to social media to decide whether a change in the man at the helm was needed in order for the capital club to lift the trophy again.

It doesn’t look good for Arsene with 81 per cent saying that with the Frenchman in charge a 14th league title was impossible.

Less than one-in-five respondents were willing to give Wenger backing by proclaiming that “he’s still got it”.

Arsenal are now without a win in two of their last three fixtures in all competitions and must turn it on quickly in the league if they are to usurp the inspired Foxes.

Home ties against Swansea and West Brom bookend a visit to White Hart Lane at the weekend and must be seen as six points for the taking.

Pick up at least that tally and the 11/4 on them topping the pile in May might disappear, but anything less than that and you can probably say that this is another season where top-four is a more realistic outcome.

Whether that would be enough to see the club’s owners seek a change in leadership is open to question, but for the vast majority of fans, with Wenger at the helm their side will continue to fall short.
