Neymar is more than worth the huge transfer fee for Man City

The latest transfer rumour circulating round the tabloids is that Manchester City are lining up a bid for Neymar.

A fee of £145m would be needed to bring the Brazilian superstar to the Etihad as the Premier League outfit would have to pay his release clause to get Barcelona to sell him.

Such a huge investment is bound to raise a few eyebrows, but in the case of the 24-year-old forward it would definitely be worth it.

The Barca man has scored 73 goals in 104 appearances for the Catalan giants and can be unplayable at times.

Indeed, he was the star player of the 2013 Confederations Cup and only injury stopped him from truly strutting his stuff at the 2014 World Cup.

The likelihood of Neymar heading to the Citizens was greatly increased by the events that occurred on deadline day.

Man City were overjoyed when they finally got their man and revealed that Pep Guardiola will be their manager next season, with this appointment set to make the Etihad outfit a bigger draw.

Neymar has said that he wants to work under the Bayern Munich manager and this adds some credibility to this transfer rumour.

Some may doubt whether, regardless of Guardiola, the Barca man would truly want to head to the blue side of Manchester.

However, a Brazilian legend believes that City have enough appeal to tempt Neymar into heading to the Premier League.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Ronaldinho said: “There has been a lot of talk about Neymar’s future recently, but I believe rumours of a move to Real Madrid are false.

“I will advise him to stay at Barcelona for at least a few more years, but if he wants City and they want him, we know they have the power to make it happen.”
