Moyes early favourite for Derby County hotseat

David Moyes is the early favourite to be Derby County manager on the opening day of next season, after the Championship side sacked Paul Clement.
A run of seven games without a win proved to be the straw which broke the camel’s back for Clement at the iPro stadium, and the Rams are seeking their third manager in less than a year.
Former Manchester United and Everton boss Moyes is 11/4 favourite, with the Scot currently out of management following his 12-month spell with Real Sociedad.
Nigel Pearson is 4/1 second favourite alongside Garry Monk as both men seek a return to management after leaving Leicester and Swansea respectively.
County currently sit in the Championship play-off places, but topped the table as recently as Boxing Day.
Ladbrokes are 12/1 the Rams return to the summit come the end of the season and win the league, while they’re a favourable 5/4 shot to be promoted this term.
The club won’t be short of suitors for the iPro Stadium hotseat, with ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers a 6/1 chance, as is Tim Sherwood and current Derby caretaker Darren Wassall.
Former QPR head coach Chris Ramsey is a 10/1 shot, while Derby’s assistant coach Kevin Phillips is the outside choice at 12/1 for a first job in management.
A Ladbrokes News spokesperson said: “Clement’s departure was unexpected, but with Derby’s promotion odds looking favourable there appears to be plenty of big name suitors in the hunt.”
The east Midlands side begin their new era this Saturday when they host MK Dons in the Championship.
Derby are 8/15 to begin life after Clement with three points, while the visitors are 11/2 outsiders.
