Lee Clark backed to bring the good times back to Kilmarnock

They may be fighting for survival this season but new Kilmarnock manager Lee Clark has been backed to deliver some silverware to Rugby Park.
The former Blackpool and Huddersfield gaffer is widely expected to avoid the drop this season, with survival priced up at 1/4 by the league sponsors.
The bookmaker also makes it just 3/1 that Killie break into the top six next term, while some silverware is also deemed likely under Clark.
Odds of 7/1 say the man who played his football at Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham will deliver the Scottish Cup while at the helm of Killie, while it’s 9/1 he manages them to a League Cup success.
The success will have to wait until next season at least, however, with odds of 20/1 offered on a top six finish this season.
It’s longer odds for a top three finish in 2016-17 (250/1), to beat Kilmarnock’s longest win streak of 10 games (350/1) or to beat Kilmarnock’s unbeaten streak of 21 games (500/1) but overall there is a belief that Killie have landed the right man to take the club forward.
David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: “With Kilmarnock sitting just one point above Motherwell in the relegation play-off position new manager Lee Clark has it all to do.
“It’ll be a baptism of fire but we’re backing him to lay some decent foundations and build a stronger Killie.”
Clark will be put to the test straight away with a match against Ladbrokes Championship high flyers Rangers in the League Cup.
The hosts go into the tie as 5/1 outsiders, with Gers on at 1/2, but with confidence high after a win over Motherwell at the weekend the new gaffer might just help upset the odds.
