Ladbrokes League 2: Top two to carry on winning

Published:

Ladbrokes League 2 seemed to be a mightily open affair for much of the campaign, but recent weeks have seen a leading duo emerge in the shape of Elgin City and East Fife.

Elsewhere Barry Ferguson’s Clyde look to arrest their winless run when they head over the border to Berwick, and East Stirling look to boost their survival hopes at home to former league leaders Annan.

Here’s your weekly preview…

Arbroath v Queen’s Park

Arbroath have lost just one of their last five home games, and with Queen’s Park unbeaten in four away matches, a draw looks on between these mid-table rivals.

Best Bet: Draw @ 11/4

Clyde v Berwick

With Berwick winning three of their last 13 and Clyde losing each of their last four, this isn’t a clash of in-form teams.

Each of Clyde’s last three home ties have seen under 2.5 goals, as have three of Rangers’ last four away fixtures.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals @ 6/5

Elgin v Stirling Albion

Having won six of their last eight, Elgin will be confident despite Stirling going unbeaten in four.

City prevailed 3-1 at Albion on Boxing Day and the visitors have won just once on the road since November.

Best Bet: East Fife @ 3/4

East Stirling v Annan

The hosts have conceded 22 times in their last 10 home games, while Annan have seen 16 goals in their last five away games, despite not winning any.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 8/15

Montrose v Elgin

Montrose have conceded 12 goals in their last three games and haven’t kept a clean sheet since early October.

Elgin have won six of their last nine and have scored in 10 of their 13 away games.

Best Bet: Elgin @ 7/10
