The deals that Leicester City do on transfer deadline day could prove to be the difference between winning the most surprising title race in Premier League history or slipping out of the top four altogether.
It has become an open secret that the Foxes, 8/1 title hopefuls in Ladbrokes’ market, want a striker.
Three names have filled the club’s supposed wishlist, but there appears to be problems attached to signing each of them.
The asking fee for CSKA Moscow’s Ahmed Musa is too high and won’t be lowered, while Dwight Gayle is favoured to move to Swansea over the Foxes.
Finally, Loic Remy is thought to have too high a pay packet to be able to move to the King Power Stadium, leaving Claudio Ranieri and co a little light on options.
That is of course unless the club have a fourth name they are pursuing, which according to Sky Sports is exactly the case.
The broadcasters didn’t reveal who that fourth target is, but did insist the player was a “big name”.
As you’d expect from a transfer deadline day that has been a little short of action thus far, the revelation has got social media wondering who that man might be.
Some think Saido Berahino, chased so far unsuccessfully by Stoke, Newcastle and Tottenham, is the player to share Jamie Vardy’s workload.
However, the man that has got Foxes fans all a flutter is Robinho, the former Manchester City and Brazil star.
Currently playing in China for Guangzhou Evergrande, Robinho scored 14 goals across two seasons with the Citizens between 2008 and 2010.
