Hamilton v Celtic: Bhoys well-primed to oust off-colour Accies

Published:

Celtic head to New Douglas Park tonight to face Hamilton Academical, and given the two sides’ respective form there is every reason the league leaders will extend their advantage at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

The Bhoys can go nine points clear with a win, and after slipping up to Ross County and Aberdeen in recent weeks, have bounced back with three straight victories.

Ronny Deila’s side have won six of their last seven in the league, while Hamilton host the Glaswegians having claimed victory in just two of their last 18 contests.

That Accies run included an 8-1 demolition at the hands of Celtic just last month, and the Bhoys have won each of the last four meetings, netting 16 goals in the process.

Celtic are 2/9 for claim three points tonight, with Hamilton 12/1 and a draw priced up at 5/1.

After winning five of their opening nine matches this season, Hamilton’s form has really deserted them and that includes at home.

Martin Canning’s side haven’t won at home since September, and the Accies faithful have seen their side fail to score in three of their last four fixtures.

Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths has seemingly gotten better as the season has gone on, and the 25-year-old is rapidly closing in on the top goalscorer gong.

With 16 goals in his last 12 appearances, Griffiths is 21/10 to score first and 2/5 to net anytime past the Hamilton defence, and the forward has already done so four times this term, including a hat-trick in that 8-1 January drubbing.

Hamilton have managed a goal in both prior meetings with the league leaders this term, and that could see tonight’s price boost proving a popular one as we boost Celtic to win and both teams to score from 2/1 to 12/5.

With Aberdeen not in action until Saturday, Celtic have the chance to eke out a nine-point lead with time rapidly running out for the Dons.
