Dundee boss Paul Hartley has his sights set on Caley pair

The January transfer window may have just slammed shut, but Dundee boss Paul Hartley is already looking forward to his next shopping spree.
On his mind is a double raid of Ladbrokes Premiership rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s midfield as he eyes up the pair of James Vincent and Danny Williams.
Both are out of contract in the summer, and Hartley has made no bones about his intentions for next season.
“They are two who have been mentioned and we are looking at every angle, every possibility as we try to improve the squad for next season,” he told the Dundee Courier.
“We plan to speak to them and we have indicated that to the club [Inverness]. I think it is only right to do that.
“We want to get our business done early again.”
If the Dees gaffer is able to persuade the midfield duo to head south at the end of the campaign, he could well have a couple of bargain signings.
One thing is for sure, it might help them end their wait of 13 meetings between the sides without victory with neither Vincent or Williams in the Caley Jags line-up.
The latter was on hand to provide Billy McKay with the assist for Inverness’ equaliser when the sides met in December 2014 before going on to record a 2-1 victory.
The duo wouldn’t be the first to swap the Caledonian Stadium for Dens Park in recent years after Nick Ross moved to Dundee last year.
He was a mainstay in the Caley midfield alongside the pair of Vincent and Williams for a number of years.
A renewal with his former team-mates could see Dundee build a very solid unit in the middle of the park.
But before Dundee fans can get too excited about their summer arrivals, they must first hope that their team can avoid a potential banana skin tie against Dumbarton in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.
The Premiership outfit are 3/5 favourites to book a quarter-final spot at the expense of the Sons and continue towards Hampden.
