Guus Hiddink’s arrival at Chelsea has unquestionably improved the club’s mood, spirit and form. It was, after all, what he was brought in for.
However, the Dutchman has had an effect on another top-flight side since arriving back in the division, albeit rather more inadvertently.
Watford were the opponents for Hiddink’s first game back in charge of the Blues on Boxing Day and emerged with a credible 2-2 draw.
That outing was to be the last in an unbeaten league streak of five though, and the Hornets have won just once more in the top flight in their next five.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ men remain in the top ten despite that slump, but with four points between them and a possible top-six finish, they’ll be keen to get back on the right path as soon as possible.
Unfortunately for them, Chelsea have finally stumbled upon the kind of form that defending Premier League champions are expected to put together.
They haven’t lost a game since Hiddink’s arrival, with both of their wins in the top-flight coming on the road. They have also relocated a scoring touch that has seen them net 18 times in the Dutchman’s eight games.
The Blues are 10/11 to beat the Hornets at Vicarage Road, with the hosts priced at 3/1 and the draw available at odds of 23/10.

Of course, if there are going to be goals, then someone has to score them and few in the visitors’ squad have been rejuvenated as much as Diego Costa under Hiddink.
The Spanish striker has scored six times in his last seven appearances for the Stamford Bridge club and bagged both of the Blues’ goals in the 2-2 stalemate with Watford over Christmas.
He’s 4/1 to score the first goal in west London and 6/4 to notch at anytime. Alternatively, Oscar, fresh off a hatrick against MK Dons in the FA Cup, is 11/4 to score in the game.
