New Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will be a roaring success as the man in charge at the Bernabeu, according to a recent poll.

In the wake of seeing the France legend replacing ousted Rafa Benitez as Los Blancos boss Ladbrokes News asked readers to have their say and vote on whether or not the former midfield maestro will emulate his playing days and be a success in the Madrid dugout.

And while the man himself was quick to play down premature comparisons to former Barcelona, current Bayern Munich and future Premier League boss Pep Guardiola our readers were having none of it with a whopping 77 per cent of voters backing Zizou for glory.

However, the Frenchman has a few things to address first with the retention of Welsh wonder Gareth Bale high on his list of priorities.

The former Southampton and Tottenham forward had enjoyed a central role at the club under Benitez and voiced his displeasure at seeing the Spaniard relieved of his duties.

Zidane has moved quickly to reaffirm Bale’s importance to the club but the rumour mill has already gone into overdrive linking the player with a Premier League return with either long-time suitors Manchester United or ailing champions Chelsea.

With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema also big egos in the Bernabeu dressing room Zidane will need to stamp his authority early on and with 23 per cent of voters saying the new gaffer will not be a success it’s clear some think he won’t be able to cope.

However, if the overwhelming majority are proven correct the good times could soon be rolling again for the Galacticos.
