POLL: Which team will win the League Cup this season?

Published:

It’s often said that nobody cares about the League Cup, but at Ladbrokes news we’re pretty sure that right now four teams care a great deal about the season’s first opportunity for some silverware.

It hasn’t been a tournament for major upsets, but instead we have two cracking semi-finals and four teams who can each claim good reason to be lifting the trophy at Wembley next month.

Manchester City are the favourites with the bookies at 23/20, but the Citizens must get beyond the ever-entertaining Everton and the likes of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku over two-legs first of all.

The Toffees are 13/2 for a first trophy since the 1995 FA Cup, while the other semi-final pitches Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool (6/4 second favourites) against tournament outsiders Stoke (9/1).

With Mark Hughes’ men having beaten Man City, Manchester United and Chelsea all since November however, the Potters will have every confidence of winning the competition.

It’s a wonderfully open contest as the semi-finals loom, and so today’s poll is a straight forward one; which team will win the League Cup this season?
