POLL: Are Manchester United the dullest team in English football?

Published:

Those heady days of one surging Manchester United attack after another, defences being ran ragged on a weekly basis by endless offensive pressure from the Red Devils, are seemingly all but a distant memory in 2016.

Last Saturday’s laboured 1-0 win over League One side Sheffield United in the FA Cup – via an injury-time penalty from Wayne Rooney – was the latest in a long line of performances which are a far cry from the Manchester United we used to know.

The result meant that United have failed to score in the first half of a game at Old Trafford in each of their last 10 matches, going over 460 matches without a goal in the opening 45 minutes at home.

Even Louis van Gaal himself has admitted being a tad bored at times with United’s performances this season.

Indeed Old Trafford has seen fewer league goals this season than any other team of the 92 in the Premier League and Football League, totalling a measly tally of 16.

Throw in the fact that the Reds have scored just two Premier League goals before the interval – and one of those was an own goal from Tottenham’s Kyle Walker – and we’re asking the question today; Are Manchester United the dullest team in English football?
