Ladbrokes Premiership: Form suggests short Dundee United revival

Published:

With cup duty calling this weekend there are just three Ladbrokes Premiership matches kicking off at the traditional time of 3pm on Saturday.

There is still plenty of intrigue, however, as relegation threatened Dundee United look to build on last week’s win when they travel to Partick Thistle.

Elsewhere, United’s rivals Dundee host Motherwell, looking to break into the top six, while Kilmarnock will look to leapfrog Hamilton out of the relegation play-off spot.

Here’s our round down of this tasty trio of ties.

Partick Thistle v Dundee United

The Terrors may have picked up a much needed and impressive victory against Kilmarnock last time out but recent history suggests their revival will be short-lived with Partick having the best of their recent meetings.

Thistle have won the last three clashes without conceding a single goal and, having won two of their last three at home will be confident of stretching that run against a United side winless in 10 away games in the league.

Best Bet: Partick Thistle to win to nil @ 16/5

Dundee v Motherwell

The Dark Blues come into this game of the back f three consecutive home wins and will be confident of making it four having won four of their last five meetings with Saturday’s opponents.

Motherwell were hammered 6-0 by Hearts last time out so expect the visitors to concentrate on tightening things up to restore some pride.

Best Bet: Dundee to win to nil @ 10/3

Kilmarnock v Hamilton

None of the last six meetings between these sides has been settled by more than a single goal and with the stakes high another fraught encounter lies in store.

The loser of this match will sit in the relegation play-off place, while the victor could gain a psychological advantage in the fight for survival. With Dundee drawing two of four at home and the Accies drawing two of four away, however, a share of the spoils and prolonged dogfight looks the most likely outcome.

Best Bet: Draw @ 12/5
