Hodgson urged to call on Gareth Barry for Euro 2016

England manager Roy Hodgson is missing a trick by not recalling Gareth Barry to the England set-up ahead of the European Championships.
That is according to the latest Ladbrokes News poll, which asked readers to vote on whether the in-form Everton man should be invited back into the international fold or not.
The poll follows comments by Toffees manager Roberto Martinez who claimed that Barry, who last played for the Three Lions in 2011, is “one of the best English players ever”.
Barry, 34, showed that he still has plenty to offer by playing a starring role in his side’s 2-1 Capital One Cup win over former club Manchester City and with some notable absences in recent England squads, namely the oft-injured Jack Wilshere and Michael Carrick, the majority of voters want to see Barry recalled.
In total 73 per cent of the voters said that Hodgson should take Barry to Euro 2016 to provide an experienced head among what is a largely a squad of youngsters.
However, with 27 per cent saying Barry should remain in the international wilderness it’s clear many people want to see Hodgson keep faith with the likes of Fabian Delph, Dele Alli and Ross Barkley.
Carry on playing like he is, however, and Barry might just force his way into Roy’s plans.
