Andy Murray joins a famous list of sporting benefactors

He’s a good lad, that Andy Murray, with the two-time Slam champion revealing this week that he has raised over £80,000 for the UNICEF charity.
The Scotsman launched ‘Andy’s Aces’ last year, vowing to donate £50 for every ace he hit on last year’s tour.
Tennis associations, sponsors and fans helped tot up the tally, which eventually came in at a mighty £83,000.
UNICEF have said the donation will allow them to provide over 16,000 children with blankets.

David Beckham
The former Manchester United midfielder embarked on a race around the world to play seven football matches on seven continents to raise money for UNICEF.
Beckham and his team criss-crossed the globe in just 10 days – including Antarctica – culminating in a star-studded charity match at Old Trafford where money raised from ticket sales went to the charity.
Ian Botham
This cricketing great is almost as well known now for his fundraising efforts as he is for skills at the crease.
Just last month Beefy undertook his 16th Charity Walk in 30 years, trekking 120 miles across South Africa, raising thousands for a host of charities based in the country.
Craig Bellamy
He may have caused some strife during his playing days, but former Newcastle and Liverpool man Craig Bellamy is a good guy at heart and launched the Craig Bellamy Foundation in Sierra Leone in 2008 after seeing the conditions for young people when visiting a friend in the capital, Freetown.
The striker has poured around £1.5m of his own money into the project, which provides dozens of children each with an opportunity to learn and progress in life through football.
Niall Quinn
Good old Quinny.
Sunderland’s former chairman came to the rescue following a 1-0 win at Cardiff in 2007.
After fans arrived at Bristol Airport after the game, a dispute between the airline company and fans saw the flight cancelled.
Stuck a mere 300 miles from home on a Sunday, Quinn organised 18 taxis and shelled out £8,000 to get his supporters home. Now that’s a chairman.
