This season is ‘Arsenal’s best chance to win the title since 2004’

Arsenal have not had a better chance of landing the Premier League title since they were last crowned Champions in 2004, according to the latest Ladbrokes News poll.

Leicester City may top the pile at Christmas but after last night’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City the Gunners laid down a marker in a season which has seen the usual front runners struggle for form.

The result leaves City priced at 15/8, having been favourites for much of the campaign thus far, and with the Foxes out at 11/1 it’s clear many think Claudio Ranieri’s side will run out of steam in the New Year.

With Manchester United winless in six and struggling in front of goal and Chelsea languishing at the wrong end of the table after nine defeats already, football punters are now bullish about Arsenal’s chances, with 85 per cent of Ladbrokes News readers saying this is their best chance in 11 years of reclaiming the Premier League crown.

Just 15 per cent said otherwise, suggesting that either Arsene Wenger’s side have squandered better chances in the past or that the likes of Manchester United, City and maybe even Leicester will carry the fight to the north London club from now until May.

With Arsenal still available at 5/6 to win the league and so many people convinced they have a golden opportunity to do so it might be wise to back the Emirates outfit now before the price falls even further.
