Stenhousemuir’s Brown Ferguson claims Manager of the Month

Stenhousemuir boss Brown Ferguson has won Ladbrokes League 1’s Manager of the Month award for November following a fine run of games.

Two wins and a draw ensured Stenny went through the month without defeat and the Ochilview Park side are now four games unbeaten in the league.

Speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes News, Ferguson said: “I’m very pleased that the efforts of the squad and the staff behind them were rewarded for last month because we had a really good month in terms of results.

“I’m honoured and on behalf of the group of players and all the staff, I’m delighted to accept it,” he added.

Ferguson has rallied the team following a five-game winless streak through the early autumn, and his side got back on track at the end of October with a 4-3 win against Peterhead.

A 2-1 victory against Stranraer saw them maintain that momentum into November, before a 2-2 draw with Forfar followed seven days later.

Stenny made it seven points from nine in November with a 2-1 success at Brechin City and Ferguson says this season is all about stability.

“Moving into this season it was stability in terms of a position that keeps us in the league and stability in terms of recruitment of players moving forward.

“If there’s a goal on the pitch it’s stability this season,” Ferguson explained.

The Warriors are now fifth in the table, level on points with Peterhead but having played a game less, while third-placed Albion are now just two points up the road.

Indeed it’s Albion who are this weekend’s visitors to Ochilview Park, and Ferguson will be hoping to avoid the Manager of the Month award curse, with Stenny 23/20 to claim another three points.
