Poll: Who should replace Garry Monk as Swansea manager?

The search for Garry Monk’s replacement at Swansea has taken a turn after former boss Brendan Rodgers, an early favourite in the betting, distanced himself from a return to the Liberty Stadium.

The out-of-work ex-Liverpool gaffer claims he has bigger things on his mind, prompting speculation he is eyeing the England job after Euro 2016.

Rodgers remains a 6/1 shot to replace Monk but today we’re asking you who you think should get the job.

The so-called chosen one failed to live up to Sir Alex Ferguson’s expectations at Manchester United and had mixed results when trying to rebuild his reputation at Real Sociedad.

The Scot was at his best operating on a shoestring budget at Everton, who were a perennial top six side under the now 52-year-old. Currently out of work and in the market all roads point to Moyes at this juncture.

Gus Poyet @ 11/4

The Uruguayan earned cult status among Chelsea and Tottenham fans during his playing days and impressed enough in his first managerial stint at Brighton to be handed the reins at Sunderland.

Despite taking the Black Cats to the League Cup final and inflicting a first ever home Premier League defeat on Jose Mourinho; Poyet was given his marching orders towards the end of last season. Currently in charge of AEK Athens, who sit second in the Greek Super League, the 47-year-old would relish another chance in England’s top flight.

Mark Warburton @ 8/1

Having brought an attacking style of play to Ibrox, where his Rangers side have won all but two of their Ladbrokes Championship games this season Warburton is reportedly in the frame for all vacancies at present.

Whether it’s Fulham, Swansea or QPR it appears the former Brentford boss is fully focused on getting the Gers back into the top flight and likely to stay put.

Nigel Pearson @ 9/1

With Leicester flying high under Claudio Ranieri at present it’s easy to forget that this season follows a run at the end of the last campaign which saw the foxes lose just one of their final nine games under Pearson.

A controversial character at times, the former Southampton and Hull boss is looking for a new challenge and his no-nonsense approach could be just what Swansea need to steady the ship.

Marcelo Bielsa @ 12/1

If it’s a manager with global experience they are after Swansea could do far worse than Bielsa who has plied his trade in his native Argentina, Mexico, Spain and France as well as overseeing the international sides of his home country and Chile.

Most recently in charge at Marseille the 60-year-old walked away from the role citing a conflict with the club’s management. A left-field option but an intriguing one all the same.
