NFL Acca: Patriots to build playoff momentum with huge win

Published:

In three short week’s time, the NFL regular season will be over and the playoffs will be all any fan will be talking about.

With opportunities to bet on a full slate of fixtures dwindling rapidly then, Ladbrokes News have handpicked a value-dripping treble to head into the Christmas period with.

Our selections pay £61.10 to a £10 stake and can be found below with full reasoning:

New England Patriots (-13.5) to beat Tennessee Titants @ 10/11

The fearsome unit that is the defending Super Bowl champions have beaten the Titans by an average score of 42.8-16.5 across the last four regular season outings.

With history suggesting the Patriots enjoying pounding this week’s rivals, the heavy handicap is further explained by Tennessee’s recent hammering at the hands of the New York Jets, who beat them 30-8 last week.

Jacksonville Jaguars (-3) to beat Atlanta Falcons @ 20/21

The playoffs are still a possibility for the Jaguars, despite owning a losing record of 5-8. They should improve that against an Atlanta Falcons squad in freefall.

After going 6-1 across the opening seven games of the season, the Falcons have since slumped to a six-game losing streak in which they’ve averaged 13.7 points per game. Last week they succumbed to a horrific 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Four of Jacksonville’s five wins this season have come at EverBank Field and they can overcome a favourable handicap here.

Houston Texans (+2) to beat Indianapolis Colts @ 10/11

These two rivals are tied at the top of the AFC South and know that a win here will be crucial in nabbing the division title and the playoff spot that comes with it. They are both without their starting quarterback and have both lost their last two games.

That the Colts have won all six of their meetings with Houston since the Texans entered the NFL in 2002 is telling, but not as telling as the fact that four of them have come by seven points or fewer.

In another expected tight battle, it’s worth backing Houston’s headstart.
