Klopp to bag a trophy and UCL football in first Liverpool term

Published:

Champions League qualification and some silver, that is what Jurgen Klopp will bring to Liverpool in his maiden season in the Premier League.

Or so say the Ladbrokes News readers.

After the German guided his new side to the last four in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night with a demolition job of Southampton, we asked you what was in store for the Merseyside club this season.

And there was a very positive response to the question with 72 per cent suggesting that not only will Klopp help the Reds to just their second top four finish in the last seven seasons, but he’ll also pick up a trophy along the way.

That option was miles clear of the next most popular answers with 10 per cent saying they could even bag a double, with the same percentage backing them to finish in the Champions League spots but not land any silverware.

While it has been a good start under Klopp, he did take a couple of seasons to turn Der BVB into title challengers in the Bundesliga, so it could be a little while before the Premier League heads to Anfield for the first time.

Nevertheless with a last-four spot booked in the League Cup, it could be that a trophy of sorts isn’t far away with that feat priced up as a 6/4 chance.

But  according to our poll, not only will that bet land, but Champions League football will be seen at Anfield next season as ‘The Normal One’ continues to adorn himself to the red half of Merseyside.
