Get boosted price on two-time champ to win Darts’ world crown

According to Ladbrokes, the 2016 PDC World Championship is Michael van Gerwen’s to lose.
The bookmaker has the world number one as their even-money favourite, with Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson the most likely to upset the apple cart at prices of 9/2 and 13/2 respectively.
While those two contenders are understandably valued considering Taylor is a 14-time winner of the event and Anderson is the current holder, there is another multiple victor that is perhaps flying under the radar.
Adrian Lewis, who won consecutive titles in 2011 and 2012, is a 16/1 shot to add a third success to his CV.
As it stands, that will be seen as a terrific price to many given the 30-year-old’s pedigree. He’s sure to gain even more supporters once Ladbrokes have boosted his odds to win at Alexandra Palace all the way out to 20s.
With the start of Darts’ Christmas tradition right around the corner, Ladbrokes have selected Jackpot as a phenomenal price boost for their first promotion of the tournament.
A winner of four individual titles during the year, as well as the World Cup of Darts alongside Taylor, Lewis will arrive in London in belligerent mood.
He was a third-round casualty in the World Championships last year. No doubt the Stoke native will be keen to remind everyone that loss was just a blip, having reached at least the quarter-final stage in all of his preceding five appearances.
His first-round draw is Dutchman Jan Dekker, who Lewis is 1/10 to beat, and beyond that the Englishman has a favourable quarter.
Peter Wright and Dave Chisnall are the main threats in Lewis’ side of the draw, while Van Gerwen looms as a potential semi-final opponent, but having been there and done it twice in the past, 20/1 really can’t be sniffed at when looking to place a World Championship wager.
