FA Cup Acca: Away wins await Walsall and Stevenage

Published:

A depleted Football League fixture list can only mean one of two things, either it’s snowing, or it’s an FA Cup weekend, and happily for you acca backers out there, it’s the latter.

Round three and a shot at the Man Citys and Chelseas of this world is just 90 minutes away and we can expect plenty more Cup drama this weekend.

We all love a Cup upset, but we’ve picked out a few ties this weekend which produce a tasty 43/1 fourfold.

Here’s the quartet of fixtures to boost your Christmas budget this winter…

Walsall to beat Chesterfield @ 5/4

After dumping FC United unceremoniously out of the Cup in the First Round 4-1, Chesterfield have really fallen out of form.

The Spireites have lost four successive games, conceding a dozen goals in the process, and welcome a Walsall side ticking along very nicely in League One.

The Midlands side are just two points off the third tier leadership and have lost just one of their last eight in all competitions since a 2-1 loss at home to Chesterfield.

While that victory may give the hosts confidence, recent form suggests the Saddlers could be cantering to a Third Round spot.

Stevenage to beat Yeovil @ 17/10

Teddy Sheringham is finding his feet at the managerial desk at Stevenage, and his side are unbeaten in five games – including a 2-2 draw at Yeovil last month.

These are tough times at Huish Park however, and the Glovers currently prop the entire Football League.

The hosts have won just three times in their last 15 games and a Stevenage frontline which has scored in ten of their last 11 fixtures should be sufficient to claim a place in Round Three.

Portsmouth v Accrington – Draw @ 5/2

This battle at Fratton Park sees two sides both enjoying fine campaigns.

Portsmouth are unbeaten in five, while visitors Accrington can boast a six-game stretch without defeat.

Each of Stanley’s last four games – including a First Round win against York – have seen over  3.5 goals, while the same can be said for Pompey’s last three matches too.

This looks all set for an entertaining score draw and a replay at the Crown Ground.

Barnet to beat Newport @ 11/10

Both Barnet and Newport occupy spots in League Two’s bottom five, but while County are in decent form, the hosts should edge this contest at the Hive.

The Welsh club are unbeaten in five away games, but prior to that claimed one win in seven trips around the UK.

Barnet have lost just five of their last 22 at home and comfortably beat League One Blackpool in the First Round while Newport needed a replay to see off non-league Brackley.

And don’t forget, if you back a five-fold acca or bigger and one lets you down, Ladbrokes will give you your money back! Full T&Cs here.
