The English representatives in the knock-out stage may have already taken one hit with Manchester United missing out, but that is as bad as it will get for clubs from these shores.

We asked the Ladbrokes News readers to tell us whether Arsenal and Chelsea would join the Red Devils in the Europa League or progress without too much hassle.

The result has been a solid backing for both London outfits with 39 per cent of the vote saying that a place in the last-16 is on the cards for the two clubs.

Only six per cent said things would go horribly and neither qualify meaning Manchester City were the only team representing the Premier League in the next stage.

And while the majority said neither would face an exit, Chelsea were the side to receive the most backing should only one of the two make it through, attracting 33 per cent of the vote compared to Arsenal’s 22 per cent.

Jose Mourinho’s men need a draw against Porto at Stamford Bridge this evening to confirm a place in the knock-out stages, but will be very aware that the Portuguese side can cause them issues, falling to a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture.

For the Gunners it is slightly more complex, but the fact remains that their fate rests in their own hands.

The north London outfit have to reverse a defeat in their previous meeting with Olympiakos too, after their 3-2 loss at the Emirates in September.

Arsene Wenger’s side need to beat the Greeks by either two clear goals, or win and score three or more goals.

Ladbrokes boosted the price of both sides bagging the requisite scorelines from 5/2 to 5/1 as part of their Ladvent Calendar promotion.

Can the capital clubs deliver for those lucky enough to snap up that tasty price? Today’s poll says they can.
