Aberdeen v Hearts: Dons to edge title-chasing rivals

Published:

Aberdeen welcome high-flying rivals Hearts to Pittodrie this Saturday in what may well be the game of the weekend in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

After a winless five-game spell, the Dons are very much back on form, claiming 10 points from a possible 12, and could close the gap to league leaders Celtic to just a single point if they can claim three points.

Hearts however, are unbeaten in eight Premiership matches, ironically a run which began following a 3-1 home loss to Derek McInnes’ men in September.

Aberdeen are 20/21 favourites for the match, and their home form this term reads six wins from eight matches, with just a sole defeat to St Johnstone in front of their home fans.

The visitors are outsiders at 13/5 to claim a win which would move them within a point of their hosts with a game in hand, while the draw at Pittodrie is available at 5/2.

Hearts have yet to beat a side in the top five away from home however, and Aberdeen will be confident of edging this contest.

The meeting in September, in which a David Goodwillie double either side of a Niall McGinn striker saw the Reds go 3-0 up by half-time, marked the fifth consecutive meeting between the sides in which both teams had scored.

Aberdeen have netted in every home game this term too, and both teams to score is 5/6 and keep an eye out on Saturday for a special price boost for the match.

That’s not the only reason to get involved this weekend either, with Ladbrokes’ Double Odds offer featuring on this huge Premiership clash.

Simply back a player to score first in the match, and if that player nets the opening goal inside the first 25 minutes of the game, Ladbrokes will pay you out at double odds.

Adam Rooney looks best placed as the man to back, with the Dons forward netting in five of his last six games.

The 27-year-old is 7/2 to bag the first goal, but should that strike come in the opening 25 minutes, Ladbrokes will pay you at a handsome 7/1!
