WATCH: Rangers’ incredible start ends at HIbs

Published:

Rangers’ perfect start to the Ladbrokes Championship season ended at the weekend with Hibernian taking all three points at Easter Road.

The 2-1 win for Alan Stubbs’ men cuts Rangers’ lead at the top of the table to just five points and inflicts a first league defeat on new Gers manager Mark Warburton.

Jason Cummings gave the hosts the lead after just 11 minutes, with a fantastic left-footed strike from outside the box, but Rangers found themselves on level terms just minutes into the second half when Lee Wallace’s shot deflected in off Darren McGregor.

The travelling fans must have thought their side’s 100 per cent record would be extended when substitute Nathan Oduwa fired a shot goalbound, only to see the ball cannon back off the woodwork.

That near miss proved to be the motivation Hibs needed to rally and Paul Hanlon sealed the win 18 minutes from time with close range header.

HIbs are now unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions and have got themselves right back into the Ladbrokes Championship title race.
