Voting loophole good news for prospects of 4th Impact X Factor win

The official X Factor app was launched for the last series of the X Factor, where UK residents were given five free votes to use in any way they wanted across the show’s contestants.
Once again, the app was a free way of voting ahead of the first live show this year, but a loophole has been uncovered and shared around social media which threatens to have a serious impact on results.
The ambiguity allows X Factor fans abroad to also submit votes, rather than just supporters in the UK. It is as simple as changing settings on a mobile to UK or creating an iTunes account with a British address.
Obviously the UK phone vote will also have a major bearing on uncovering the X Factor winner, but this development seriously favours certain acts over others.
It is no secret that the X Factor is more of a popularity contest than wholly a singing one and 4th Impact now have a far greater chance of winning than was previously the case. The girl band from the Philippines suddenly look a very attractive price for victory at 7/1.
The famous boxer Manny Pacquiao is a good example of how highly Filipinos pride those that achieve fame from their country and there is no reason to suggest that 4th Impact won’t get considerable backing too.
Furthermore, the fact that one of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s remaining two acts have already performed on talent shows in the Philippines and Korea, alongside having performed covers on YouTube that have surpassed a million views each indicates that they already have a decent worldwide following.
Speaking about YouTube views, 4th Impact are comfortably ahead of all of the other acts on the official X Factor channel.
Within 36 hours of the first live show, they had already topped 1.3 million views. X Factor betting favourite Louisa Johnson was next with just shy of 375,000.
Views don’t naturally translate to votes, but in terms of popularity it is clear that 4th Impact are in an incredibly strong position.
The Britain’s Got Talent victory of Hungarian shadow theatre group Attraction shows that the UK public are willing to get behind an overseas act and there are ample reasons to believe that 4th Impact could follow suit on the X Factor.
