Union J’s George Shelley hot favourite for I’m A Celebrity crown

The X Factor may be about to make stars of the likes of Louisa Johnson and Che Chesterman but it s a former act who is set to hit the headlines over the coming weeks.
George Shelley came to prominence as one quarter of Union J on the 2011 edition of X Factor and has been chalked up as the early favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle after it emerged he will soon been heading Down Under to take part in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2015.
The singer, whose hits include Carry You and You Got It All, has been priced up as the 4/1 early favourite to win the show hosted by Ant and Dec.
Shelley’s likely competition looks set to come from those who also made their name on the small screen, with Made In Chelsea lothario Spencer Matthews and Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter both available at 8/1.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Jungle George is flying high at the top of the betting and it shouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him as the hot favourite with both bookies and female viewers.”
However, with sports stars like Phil Tufnell and Carl Fogarty winning the show in the past, the 8/1 on former England, Newcastle and West Ham midfielder Kieron Dyer could prove a shrewd selection.
The remainder of 2015’s cast ranges from complete wannabes to former household names and the betting suggests it’s anyone’s guess how well they will do.
Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison, X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman and Susannah Constantine of Trinny and Susannah fame are all priced at 10/1.
Meanwhile, Blue Peter host-turned professional ghost botherer Yvette Fielding, former Dragon’s Den investor Duncan Bannatyne, one-time WBO Super Middleweight world champion Chris Eubank and Towie cast member Ferne McCann are all available at 12/1.
Those looking for an outside bet could be tempted to do a Wikipedia search on Lady Colin Campbell (us neither) and opt for the South African radio host and socialite at 16/1. Stranger things have happened in the jungle after all.
