Sevilla v Man City: Both teams to score is a certainty in Spain

Published:

This season’s Champions League group phase looks abnormally serene for Manchester City, thanks largely to the late intervention of Kevin De Bruyne.

The club’s costly Belgian grabbed a last-gasp winner against Sevilla last time out, leaving the Citizens with a three-point cushion over the Spaniards in Group D.

Trailing Juventus by just a point to sit in second, there’s every chance Manuel Pellegrini’s side could top their mini league and bag an easier round of 16 tie. First though, they must do the double over Unai Emery and co on the road.

Ladbrokes make that a 6/4 possibility, with the hosts priced up at 15/8 and the draw 5/2. With Los Rojiblancos winning all of their last 10 home games in Europe, not too much faith can be placed in the favourites.

Instead, a both teams to score punt looks a better choice at 4/7. Sevilla are particularly accommodating to the bet, having kept just three clean sheets all season and just one in their last nine.

While they are particularly soft at the back, Sevilla are potent up front. They’ve scored in each of their last five and have been involved in four games where both teams have scored in that time.

Things look even better on the BTTS front when City’s form in the arena is considered. Their snore-fest goalless draw with Manchester United aside, they have seen goals for both teams in each of their last 10 games.

If of course 4/7 isn’t a workable price, then exploring the three special offers Ladbrokes have for the game is an avenue worth exploring:

*IN-PLAY £25 OFFER. Place a pre-match bet and an In-Play bet. If the In-Play bet loses, we’ll refund that stake up to the same value as your pre-match bet. T&CS

**Wilfried Bony to score and Man City to win WAS 10/3 NOW 4/1
