Poll: Who do you want new champ Tyson Fury to fight next?

The odds suggested that the task at hand would be too much for Tyson Fury on Saturday evening, but the Manchester pugilist’s self-belief was well placed as he was crowned heavyweight champion of the world.

In taking Wladimir Klitschko, previously undefeated in 11 years, the full 12 rounds Fury demonstrated that he can walk-the-walk as well as talk-the-talk.

The ‘Gypsy King’ was a thoroughly deserving winner on the judge’s scorecards as he delivered a 7/2 upset in Dusseldorf.

Klitchsko is entitled to a rematch, which must be arranged by the end of January, but there are plenty of other challengers with their eyes on a fight with Fury.

If defeating the Ukrainian again, the obvious place to go would be to take on Deontay Wilder, holder of the only other heavyweight strap, in what would be a unification bout.

And while the Fury camp were left fuming after multiple fights were called off in 2013, the returning David Haye would surely be keen for a crack with the new title holder.

The London boxer has a bout with Mark De Mori lined up for January 16, and should he emerge victorious The Hayemaker would surely talk up a potential shot at Fury’s titles.

But could Fury opt to take on another emerging superstar from these shores?

While he has yet to fight anyone of note, Olympic Gold Medallist Anthony Joshua has been a wrecking ball in the ring, winning all 14 of his fights, by knockout no less, and looks a world champ in the making.

A slightly left-field alternative could be to take on Russia’s Alexander Povetkin, who himself has just one career loss to his name, that coming against Wladimir Klitschko.

He may not necessarily be the draw of an all-Britain fight, or one of title unification, but Povetkin is a serious fighter in his own right, and would certainly give Fury something to think about.

Whoever the new champion takes on, the boxing world would be glued to their screens, but we want to know who would be the biggest draw for you.
