Poll: Roy thinks he’s lucky to still be in a job, do you agree?

As England continue with their preparation for Euro 2016 on the back of a perfect qualifying campaign, Roy Hodgson has been in a reflective mood.
After seeing Stuart Lancaster handed his P45 after the England rugby union side crash out of the World Cup at the first hurdle, it appears Hodgson is feeling lucky to still have his job.
The Three Lions put up an arguably bigger disappointment in the World Cup in Brazil last year, finishing bottom of a group that they should really have progressed from.
However the FA decided to stick with their man, and the former Liverpool boss is in no doubt he is in a privileged position.
“I was more fortunate that the FA kept faith in me at a time when results didn’t go as they should,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“They could, if they had wanted to, have decided to change course. Stuart wasn’t so lucky.
“I’m grateful the FA kept faith with me and the work we were doing with a good team in a transitional period.”
While one cannot doubt that the performances in South America were disastrous, is Hodgson really as lucky as he is making out?
There is a case to be made that the expectations for the England rugby team, in a World Cup on their own patch, were far higher than those on a football side that have won nothing in nearly 50 years.
Hodgson seems to have rewarded the FA by guiding his side through the qualifiers with ease. The real test will now come in Alicante as England take on Spain before returning to London for a clash with France.
But the question we are asking you today is, how right is Roy? Is he lucky that he didn’t suffer the same fate as Lancaster? Or has he simply delivered what he can with the resources at his disposal?
