POLL RESULT: David Moyes still has the magic to deliver at the top

His career in Spain may have come to an end a day shy of a full year, but David Moyes can still do a job with a top club, so say Ladbrokes News voters.

Our latest poll reveals that the former Real Sociedad manager is still viewed in high regard, by most people anyway.

Moyes’ tenure in San Sebastian came to an end on Monday after 364 days, following six defeats from his opening 11 games at the Anoeta.

It’s the second successive club with which Moyes has failed to fulfil a complete calendar year, following his difficult spell with Manchester United following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.

Some 75 per cent of you still fancy the former Everton manager to do the job with a top club, and Moyes has already been linked with a host of Premier League outfits.

It wasn’t a totally perfect result for the Scot, with 25 per cent suggesting his last two spells have done irreparable damage to his ability to manage at the very top.

But on the whole, it seems most view Moyes’ struggles at United and Sociedad as not all his own doing, and in addition to his sterling record at Everton over such a long spell, many believe he can still cut it at the top.

Ladbrokes are 5/6 that Moyes takes charge of a Premier League club before the season is out, with Newcastle the likely destination at 7/4.
