Lukaku should avoid PSG as Zlatan isn’t done yet
Romelu Lukaku is a rumoured target for Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, with the French champions looking to spend £45million to prise him away from Everton.
The Belgian striker is being touted as a possible replacement to Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the 34-year-old has been off the boil this season.
Ibra has been smashing it in Ligue 1 with seven goals in as many appearances, but his performances in the Champions League have left a lot to be desired.
He’s yet to score in four games in Europe and looked lackadaisical against Real Madrid, missing at least two chances he really should have buried.
The former Barcelona, Inter and Juventus man is apparently playing for his future in Paris, but Sweden’s captain still has one thing going for him.
He is Zlatan.
The enigmatic front man hasn’t scored less than 20 goals in a season since his first at AC Milan, finding the net 33 times during his debut Parisian campaign.
Furthermore, he’s won league titles at every club he’s played for, so to scrap him for a player who has never scored more than 17 goals in a season seems foolish.
If Lukaku moved to Paris and struggled to find his scoring boots immediately, it would be easy to replace him with Ibrahimovic meaning the former-Chelsea man could find himself on the periphery.
Edinson Cavani is living proof of what happens when you try to play in a team with Ibrahimovic that only utilises one striker.
The man who impressed so many during his time at Napoli has been shunted out to the right wing at PSG leading to a decline in goals.
Before departing Italy, he had a 29-goal season in Serie A, but his highest Ligue 1 tally is trailing behind on 18.
