Ladbrokes Premiership: Jambos and Dons fail to punish Celtic

It was a week to forget for many of the teams in the Ladbrokes Premiership, with league leaders Celtic being held to a draw but the head of the chasing pack failing to capitalise.
The Bhoys, failed to score for on the second time this season when drawing 0-0 with Kilmarnock. The loss of two points seemed to open a window of opportunity for both Hearts and Aberdeen but neither side was able to close the gap.
The Jam Tarts would have fancied their chances at home to a Dundee side who were without a win in four. Things looked to be going according to plan when Arnaud Djoum put the hosts in front on 24 minutes, but despite a dominating performance Rory Loy’s 67th-minute equaliser was enough to earn a share of the spoils.
On Sunday it was the turn of Aberdeen. The Dons, who had stopped a five-game winless streak the week before with a 2-0 win over Dundee United would have leapfrogged Hearts into second with a win over Hamilton and must have thought their luck was in when Kenny McLean’s powerful half-volley had the visitors 1-0 up after just four minutes.
Dougie Imrie was the hosts’ saviour, tapping in from close range on 70 minutes, and despite a late flurry of activity from the Dons the Accies held on for a point, pushing them up to sixth in the league.
St Johnstone were the only side in the top four to secure victory and their 2-1 away win over basement boys Dundee United saw them close the gap on Aberdeen in third place to just three points.
Ross County and Partick Thistle were the only other sides to secure a win at the weekend, with the former running out 3-0 winners at home to Motherwell and the latter grabbing a last-minute winner through substitute Ryan Stevenson to nick a 2-1 win over Inverness to move six points above the automatic relegation place.
