How Twitter reacted to the Frampton v Quigg announcement

Boxing history is littered with fights that should have happened but for one reason or another were never made.
The likes of Joe Calzaghe v Sven Ottke, Roy Jones Jr v Dariusz Michalczewski and Ricky Hatton v Junior Witter never came to fruition despite popular demand, while others got in the ring too late to live up to hype (see Mayweather v Pacquiao).
However, fortunately for boxing fans everywhere but especially on this side of the Atlantic the names of Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton will not be added to that list.
The Super bantamweight rivals announced yesterday that they will put their respective titles on the line in a unification bout early in 2016.
Bury’s Quigg is the WBA champion and undefeated after 33 fights, drawing just two and winning 23 times by knockout, while Belfast’s Frampton has won all 21 of his bouts, with 14 of those victories coming inside the distance.
