Back Tomas Berdych To Serve World No. 1 Insult To Injury

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are both set to play their final round-robin matches on Thursday, with Federer having already qualified for the semi-finals.

The Swiss superstar stunned the World No. 1 at the O2 with a 7-5 6-2 victory, bringing Djokovic’s three-year unbeaten indoors run to an end, and closing the curtain on his 23-match winning streak.

The Serb had looked his usual comfortable self in defeating Kei Nishikori on Sunday, but had no answers to the Fed-Express, who now takes a 22-21 lead in their overall head-to-head.

Despite Nishikori’s hard-fought three-set win over Tomas Berdych, it’s hard envisage him taking anything from his second-round match against an in-form Federer, and a big backing for the Swiss to win 2-0 at 4/6 seems a confident bet.

The Swiss leads the pairs’ overall head-to-head 3-2, with each win ending in straight sets. However, if you wanted to go for a punchier pick, Nishikori’s two wins over Federer have both come in three sets, and at 7/1 it may be worth investing in.

Novak will undoubtedly feel disheartened following his loss to Federer, and it could be a great chance for Berdych to capitalise here.

Whilst having lost all three of their matches this year, Berdych has managed to take the Serb to three sets each time, most notably in Paris where he pushed Djokovic to the brink in a 7-6 7-6 battle.

Back the World No. 5 to win 2-1 at a huge 14/1.

Murray and Peers feel the pressure

Italian duo Bolelli and Fognini haven’t enjoyed a very successful campaign at the O2, losing their first two matches with just the one set to their names against Murray and Peers. It’s doubtful they’ll turn things around against Bopanna and Mergea, who are unbeaten in the tournament, and are 1/2 for another win here.

Jamie Murray and John Peers must beat the top-ranked Bryan Brothers in their final group match if they are to make the semi-finals, with both pairs’ winning and losing one apiece.

The British duo are 7/4 to reach the knockout stages, whilst the Bryans are favourites at 2/5.
