Albion boss claims Manager of the Month Award

Published:

A 3-0 loss to Dunfermline wasn’t the ideal way to start October, but Albion manager Darren Young turned it around with an unbeaten run through the rest of month which has seen him crowned Ladbrokes League 1 Manager of the Month.

Successive 1-0 wins over Peterhead and then away at Brechin City were followed by a 1-1 draw with Airdrieonians to lift Rovers into fourth in the table.

Aside from that loss to the Pars, the Wee Rovers have conceded just once in their last six games, and the Cliftonhill outfit now boast the league’s second tightest backline.

Albion also have a game in hand on the teams around them, and if they win their tie with Cowdenbeath, Rovers would only be five points adrift of leaders Ayr, making the 33/1 on Albion to win the league this season rather eye-catching.
