Top six at least if Jurgen Klopp leads Liverpool this season

Published:

While rumours abound suggesting that Liverpool want to have Jurgen Klopp signed, sealed and delivered as their new manager by Friday, it’s left us all wondering just what the German can achieve at Anfield.

Liverpool’s current 10th place in the Premier League was not enough to save Brendan Rodgers his job, and with Klopp’s superb record at Borussia Dortmund to mull over, Reds fans may understandably be getting a bit excited about the potential appointment of the 48-year-old.

We wanted you to tell us at Ladbrokes News just where Klopp can lead Liverpool this season should he be given the post, and it appears you can’t quite make your minds up.

35 per cent of you think a top four finish is on the cards – 13/5 with Ladbrokes – and that may not be as crazy as it sounds with the Reds just three points off those top four spots in the standings.

Just as many of you (35 per cent) thought a top six finish would be Klopp’s impact this season.

The Merseyside club have failed to finish higher than sixth in five of the last six years, but with Chelsea stuttering and the usual big names of Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham all showing inconsistent results, there’s seemingly plenty of room for a top six spot this term.

None of you fancied the Reds to end up third or second, but 8 per cent of our voters (really) reckon the outspoken German manager could steamroll Liverpool to Premier League season glory this season.

Klopp would surely eat his hat if that happened and odds of 50/1 with Ladbrokes suggest it may be a season too soon.
