Swansea won’t sack Garry Monk, despite results, says Kammy

Garry Monk may have seen his odds to be the next Premier League manager to leave slashed from 40/1 to 7/4 in the past week, but for Chris Kamara there is no chance he will get the boot any time soon.

Swansea are without a win in six games following their defeat to Stoke last Monday, and currently find themselves in 14th place in the top-flight.

But for Ladbrokes ambassador Kammy, Monk’s chances of being given his P45 are slim.

“I’d be amazed if Swansea pulled the trigger any time soon,” our man told Ladbrokes News.

“He did such a great job last season and started off this term brilliantly, picking up the Manager of the Month award for August, but they are just having a little hiccup, something that every club can have in the Premier League.”

For the Sky Sports pundit, it is a lack of goals, and not a lack of talent that is the reason for the October stutter at the Liberty Stadium.

“At the moment they’re not scoring goals which is costing them dearly, they certainly weren’t outplayed by Stoke when they lost 1-0 to them last week.

“They had a bid of bad luck, hitting the post, with Bojan’s penalty being the only difference between the sides.

“Any team that goes through a four of five game run where they don’t win, there will be some bets causing the manager’s odds to shorten, but he knows there is plenty of talent there.”

Next up for the Swans is a trip to Aston Villa where they take on a side with another manager under similar pressure, according to the betting.

Tim Sherwood is the only man shorter than Monk to be the next to end his Premier League tenure at 2/5, with defeat on Saturday likely to see his price cut once again.
